While hopes were high earlier in the year that we would be able to meet in Ballarat by November, the plans for an in-person workshop unfortunately had to be abandoned yet again.

Taking into account everyone’s zoom fatigue the workshop committee decided on a shorter format this year: two half days each consisting of a plenary talk in the morning and a poster session in the afternoon, followed by an informal virtual meeting space to catch up with colleagues.

The main focus of the two days will be a virtual poster and networking hall – very similar to last year’s successful online poster sessions using the Remo platform. Below is a snapshot of what to expect expect both days:

November 16 and 17
11:30 – 12:00 Plenary talk over zoom
BREAK
12:30 – 14:00 Poster session in Remo
14:00 – 15:00 The virtual space will stay open to meet informally with colleagues

Please note the ECR day has been postponed until we can meet in person.

Students and ECRs are especially encouraged to use the opportunity to share work in progress with colleagues. The flexibility of the virtual whiteboard platform in Remo means that you can upload a number of different types of file to present your work. Those who have the capacity to compile a formal poster are welcome to. Others may wish to present a single slide, figure, animation, a page of algorithms, etc as a way of sharing work in progress among peers at their virtual table.

Registrations open: 6 October
Registrations close: 5 November
Deadline to upload posters/slides: 10 November

To ensure the online event runs smoothly, posters should be uploaded to Clever ahead of time so that they can be added to the agenda and assigned a virtual table in Remo. Upload your poster to https://tinyurl.com/2021-clex-posters by 10 November
