Biography

Elaine graduated from University of New South Wales in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science/Media & Communication with first class honours. Her thesis was on climate change perceptions and barriers to change. She has experience in both private and government sectors in areas of climate change adaptation, carbon management and sustainability education. Elaine has presented at the 14th NSW Geographical Society Annual Conference on climate change perceptions and at various Local Government NSW (LGNSW) and Office of Environment & Heritage (OEH) conferences on adaptation strategies. Her interests primarily are in research and policy, climate change adaptation and effective communication of the technical science to the wider community. At the Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes, Elaine provides events management and communications for the director and centre team.
