Biography

Isabela is currently completing a PhD in applied mathematics with a focus on physical oceanography at UNSW. She obtained her Honours degree in Mathematics from the University of Queensland in 2022, where she undertook a project on delay differential equations of El Nino-Southern Oscillation. Isabela began her PhD in 2023, with the aim of understanding drivers and impacts of variability in the tropical sea surface temperature distribution, using both mathematical modeling and statistical approaches. She aims to aid understanding of how the heat content of the ocean will alter with climate change, and how this will affect different physical processes.
